Paris, 22 July 2011:

Paris-based eCO2market is pleased to announce the addition of Marius-Cristian Frunza as the company’s Head of Market Research this week. “Marius’ previous work speaks for itself,” said CEO François Cazor. “He is one of the most widely respected carbon analysts in the market and we could not be happier that he has decided to join our team.” Dr. Frunza will strengthen eCO2market’s flagship product, eCO2data, with new tools and capabilities.

Dr. Frunza brings a wealth of carbon market related experience, and will instantly boost eCO2market’s already strong quantitative abilities to better serve carbon professionals around the world by creating superior carbon market models. Dr. Frunza’s background in carbon derivatives and allowances at Sagacarbon-CDC makes him an authority in the evolving carbon market.

“The opportunity to join a talented and agile team with a growing reputation excites me. I believe in the future of the market and in the combination of our skills,” said Dr. Frunza. Previously, his consulting work with investment banks and asset managers allowed Dr. Frunza to specialize in risk management, derivative pricing and hedging. His research activity encompasses topics around environmental finance like forestry, energy, and weather derivatives. Marius graduated from the Ecole Polytechnique in Paris and holds a PhD in mathematics from the Sorbonne university. He is also a partner in Schwarztal Kapital, an independent advisory and investment firm in environmental finance.

eCO2market is an independent data and analytics provider dedicated to carbon markets. eCO2market’s goal is to bring transparency and traceability across the carbon value chain by offering innovative and robust tools. As more companies realize carbon’s growing importance, eco2data.com is becoming a crucial resource for carbon project data and analysis, and is used by players across activities from finance to GHG emission.

Please join us in welcoming Marius to the team!
